The journal: fields, filters and exports

The journal is the trade-by-trade record. It filters to All, Open — which includes pending resting limits and watched rows — Taken, Passed and Overrides, and searches across symbol, setup, grade, lens and notes. Deleting or manually closing writes a corrective event rather than editing history.

Filters and search

Open deliberately includes pending resting limits and watched rows, because from the trader's point of view all three are live commitments awaiting an answer.

Free-text search covers the same fields as the command palette, so the two surfaces cannot disagree about what a search means.

The detail sheet

You can add notes, close a position manually at a price, delete a mis-click, and reopen the frozen analysis exactly as it stood when the decision was made.

Every one of those changes writes a corrective event. The record is auditable rather than silently editable — a journal you can quietly revise is a journal that will eventually flatter whoever revises it, which destroys the only thing a trading journal is for.

Outcome columns

Takes carry realised R. Passes and watches carry shadow R — what the trade would have done. That is how declining a bad setup earns credit instead of looking identical to never having looked at it.

Exports

CSV of the currently filtered rows, with a byte-order mark so Excel opens it correctly and proper quoting so a note containing a comma does not shift every column. Full JSON is also available.

The complete journal is kept on the free tier. A record you cannot get out of a product is a record held hostage.

Immutability

One tap froze the analysis, and the engine version that produced it is stamped on the row. History is never regraded — when the engine changes, past reads keep the grade they were actually given, because a retroactively improved track record is not a track record.

Frequently asked

Can I quietly edit a journal entry after the fact?
You can edit notes, close manually, or delete a mis-click — and every such change writes a corrective event. The frozen analysis itself is immutable, so the record stays auditable rather than becoming a story you can revise.
Does my journal survive on the free plan?
Yes, in full, along with CSV and JSON export. A record you cannot export is a record held hostage, and gating history would make the product’s central claim — that your own decisions are the evidence — conditional on payment.
