A tier derives from the plan and the subscription status together — either one alone gives the wrong answer. Pro gates a larger daily allowance, more free follow-ups, partner lenses, Research, Insider entry, and the confidence and confluence numbers on the desk. Everything else is free.
How a tier is derived
The plan on the profile and the subscription status are read together. A plan field alone would entitle someone whose payment lapsed; a status alone would not distinguish the tiers.
Trialing and active both count as subscribed. Every subscription field is written only by the payment webhook — the client cannot promote itself, which is the difference between an entitlement and a suggestion.
What Pro gates
The list is short and it is exactly what the code enforces.
- The larger daily analysis allowance — 500 per day against the free tier's 2.
- More free follow-ups per read — 10 against 3.
- Partner lenses and rule packs.
- The Research workspace.
- Insider room entry, unless earned through the posting grant.
- The confidence and confluence numbers on the desk.
What stays free
The journal and the full history, the edge metrics, alerts, the watchlist, the screener, every asset class, and the complete written read.
Nothing is deleted on downgrade, and no route in the product requires a subscription to reach. Being unsubscribed is a tier the product supports rather than an unfinished funnel it is trying to move you out of.
The withheld numbers
Where a figure is gated, it is folded rather than blurred — the value is never sent to the browser, so there is nothing to recover by inspecting the page. A paywall you can defeat with developer tools is a paywall that only charges the honest.
Frequently asked
- Which parts of ORIN stay free?
- The journal and full history, edge metrics, alerts, the watchlist, the screener, every asset class, and the complete written read. Nothing is deleted on downgrade, and no route in the product requires a subscription to reach.
- Can the app promote my account to Pro without a payment?
- No. Every subscription field is written only by the payment webhook, so the client cannot promote itself. The tier is derived from plan and subscription status together, because either one alone gives a wrong answer.
