Every analysis grades through exactly one lens: the platform default, your own strategy rules, or a partner pack. A lens can only ever make a read stricter — the final grade is the worse of the platform grade and the pack grade, and a pack’s hard-rule failure vetoes the entry outright.
The three kinds of lens
The platform lens is the engine's own read. The strategy lens is that read checked against rules you wrote. A pack lens is the read checked against a published methodology.
Defaults can be set per instrument as well as globally, because a trader who runs an index future through a session methodology and a large-cap stock through a momentum one is not being inconsistent — they are trading two different things.
Stricter only, never kinder
The final grade is the worse of the two grades. A pack can hold a grade or lower it; it can never raise one.
This is the load-bearing guarantee of the whole lens system. A lens that could raise a grade would be a lens a trader could select for the answer it produces, and at that point the grade stops being a measurement and becomes a choice.
A consequence worth expecting: most charts fail most packs. That is what a rulebook is for. A methodology that approved of everything would not be a methodology.
No blending
Two lenses cannot be combined. A blended grade cannot be explained to the person receiving it — and a grade nobody can trace back to a rule is indistinguishable from a number that was simply asserted.
Switching, and what happens when Pro lapses
Changing the lens re-grades the read on screen from the committed analysis rather than re-running it, and the lens is part of the key that decides whether a prior read can be reused.
Packs are a paid feature. If a subscription lapses, your stored lens choice survives, but the engine quietly falls back to the platform read rather than grading through a pack that is no longer being paid for. The choice is preserved; the entitlement is not faked.
